The spokesperson of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Fawzi Barhoum has stated the following:

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas decries the latest decision issued by  the Ramallah- based government of imposing cuts on civil servants salaries in the Gaza Strip. Hamas deems it an arbitrary decision which  reflects lack of responsibility towards the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and one that aims to increase and aggravate the strip's crisis to weaken people's steadfastness.

We express our full solidarity with the workers' just demands and call for a swift abolition of  these meaningless decisions. The government has to stop its policy of discrimination against  the Palestinian of Gaza Strip; a biased policy which favors Palestinians in occupied West Bank and neglects those in Gaza Strip.  The government must also take full responsibilities toward the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza by addressing their needs and tackling all the problems including the workers' crisis.
