The Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli prisons decided to mark their "Palestinian Prisoner Day" by launching a mass hunger strike to draw the world's attention to their abominable conditions.

According to Adameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently about 6500 Palestinian Prisoners in the Israeli prisons, 300 of them are minors under the age of 18. Also, about 536 of those prisoners are held under the administrative detention, which is an Israeli procedure that allows the Israeli military to arrest Palestinians without charging them or putting them on trial.

The Palestinian prisoners are subjected to an inhuman and degrading treatment by the Israeli Prison Authority as they suffer from lengthy and painful interrogation and dire circumstances at these prisons.

The Palestinian prisoners are reportedly agonized from being beaten and tortured during the interrogation process. Some of them are even placed in solitary confinement for long periods as a form of punishment. The Palestinian prisoners are deprived from their very basic human rights like their right to sleep and  to receive  proper medical care.

The Israeli prison officers usually raid the cells and the prisoners' rooms to terrify the Palestinian prisoners .

It is noteworthy to say that detaining the Palestinian children has witnessed a noticeable increase as more and more Palestinian children are arrested or subjected to home arrest. Palestinian children are now convicted and put on trial for alleged Israeli reasons like participating in demonstrations.

Ahmed Manasra, 12, is a Palestinian child who was sentenced to 12 years in Israeli prisons , and he is left alone facing extreme psychological and physical Israeli harm in his custody.

The Palestinian prisoners fall victims to unprecedented Israeli barbarity being perpetrated against them. Their distressing conditions should urge the whole world to take swift actions to save those detainees from their disastrous conditions.
