Tens of thousands of people took part in 40 rallies organized by the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, in different provinces of the Gaza Strip to protest Abbas’s plot against the besieged Strip.
Gaza Province
Hamas leader in Gaza City, Maher Sabra, saluted the brave detainees who are undergoing the hunger strike of dignity and freedom, stressing that the hard times Gaza is going through will not hinder its cause and steadfastness, and that Hamas adopts the issue of Palestinian prisoners through action and not words only.
Sabra also stressed that Gaza remains under the responsibility of the Unity Government, and called upon its president to come to Gaza and solve its crises and bear its responsibility.
He pointed out that Gaza, which tolerated the suffocating siege for more than ten years, and stood up to the three Israeli aggressions, will withstand all attempts of blackmail and threats.
Central Province
In the central governorate, citizens marched in many of the central areas of Gaza condemning the threats and procedures directed by Abbas towards the citizens of Gaza.
In a speech delivered at the rally, Hamas leader, Ashraf Abu Zayed, said that all conspiracies drawn by Abbas and his Authority will not succeed, while holding Abbas and the Israeli occupation full responsibility for these plots. He also noted that the people of Gaza will overcome such schemes.
North Gaza Province
In the northern Gaza Strip, the movement organized mass rallies were Palestinian flags and banners were raised condemning the siege imposed on Gaza.
During his speech at the rally, Hamas spokesman, Abdel Latif Al-Qanou, denounced the plot being drawn by Abbas, which targets children, families of martyrs and the humanitarian cases in Gaza.
Al-Qanou said that the people of Gaza will foil the political plot that aims to undermine them and their steadfastness and will.
He pointed out that a Fatah delegation visiting the Gaza Strip is pointless unless it carries clear solutions to the crises that Mahmoud Abbas is launching at the Gaza Strip, indicating that the movement is ready to extend its hands for a comprehensive national dialogue in front of the Palestinian people.
In Khan Yunis, Hamas organized several marches in various areas of the province in rejection of the policies of the unjust siege, and the deduction of salaries and power cuts, which Abbas carried out against Gaza and its resistance.
