Prisoners Information Office ended Tuesday morning “A million years in prison” ; alive radio talk show which lasted for 65 consecutive hours
It started Saturday evening, 15th April, 2017 at 5:00 PM and ended on Tuesday 18th April, 2017 thereby entering Guinness World Records.
Abed Rahman Shadeed, the director of Prisoners Information Office, said that the office ended the longest radio talk show in the world which shed the light on the cause of prisoners. He also emphasized that this show is a huge leap in the Palestinian media which stands in solidarity with the prisoners.
“ The just cause of the prisoners needs to be internationalized and this radio show was an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records so the prisoners’ issue may reach international forums” he added
It is worth noting that more than 40 journalists and administrators from different disciplines organized and prepared the talk show. They broadcasted 130 press report, 65 of which were prisoner-related and the others were Palestinian key issues. The talk show hosted 160 specialists and high ranking figures during the broadcasting hours. Moreover, 85 European, Arab , and local radio stations participated in the show.
Shadeed concluded that the objectives of the radio talk show must be implemented on the ground and the message must reach all concerned and human rights institutions. He also pointed out that the prisoners’ cause is the most legitimate and just cause in the world and one that needs successful and experienced media to portray it rightfully.
