A delegation from the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas,  in Khan Yunis  province in the southern Gaza Strip visited the families of Palestinian detainees who are serving life sentences in Israeli prisons on Monday, as part of the Palestinian Prisoners Day organized by the movement in solidarity with the detainees.

Hamas’ Public Relations official, Alaa Al-Batta, said that these visits come within the framework of the movement's recognition of the struggle of the heroic prisoners and their lengthy life sentences inside Israeli occupation prisons,  hoping that the next Palestinian Prisoners Day anniversary will witness the homecoming of Palestinian detainees to their families.  

He stated that  the movement and  all segments of Palestinian society stand in solidarity with the heroic prisoners inside Israeli prisons, who are on the Dignity and Freedom Hunger Strike striving for their basic rights as prisoners of war, stressing that these rights are approved by all international conventions.

He explained that these visits are part of a large campaign launched by the movement that include visiting  more than 75 families located in the province.

For his part, a leader in Hamas, Younis Al-Astal, said that Hamas appreciates the role of the heroic prisoners in the Palestinian cause, adding, “the movement and the Palestinian resistance are doing everything possible to liberate our heroic prisoners. "

Al-Astal stressed that the occupation will give in to the conditions of resistance in the next exchange deal sooner or later, noting that the resistance will spare no effort to free the  prisoners.
