The MP  of Tulkarm governorate, Abdul Rahman Zidan, said that the detainees , who have  been on hunger strike since the 17th of April, inside the Israeli prisons call upon us to unite the Palestinian positions, speech ,mutual work , rallies, and  official efforts.

.In a press release, on the 24th day of the  dignity strike, Zidan assured that the detainees are in high spirits  and  that they believe firmly in their just cause and are confident  that Allah will grant them victory in the battle of hunger. He added that the victory of the detainees  will be victory for all the Palestinians.

In his message to the hunger strikers and detainees , Zidan said, “ You are in the battle of dignity and steadfastness . Do not  be discouraged by the  conspiracies and plots or the factional divisions.  . You experienced victory in the previous strikes and failure in 2004 Hunger Strike. The choice is in your hands.”

He called upon the families of the hunger strikers and the detainees inside the Israeli prisons to increase participation in the events and  solidarity tents  asserting that the popular interaction draws strength from the power of the detainees’ families and that official efforts cannot be exerted without pressure from those families.

The MP pointed out that the hunger strike is  a  political advantage for the Palestinian Authority ,  the government , and the detainees association  if they  benefit from   it since  all diplomatic, legal and media tools are in their hands.

Zidan affirmed that the steadfast hunger strikers will  defeat the Israeli Occupation when the Palestinian authority  fulfills its duties towards them.

The MP also stated that the interaction of the international human rights organizations with the hunger strike  and their pressure on the Israeli occupation  is  inadequate .  Moreover, they have turned  a deaf ear and blind eye to the violations of the international humanitarian law and Geneva Convention against the detainees before and during the strike; a matter which raises suspicions of abandonment and collaboration on part of rights groups.
