The Israeli Occupation arrested Wednesday early morning three members of the Islamic Bloc at Birzeit university: Ahmad Al Ayesh; the head of the university council, Amr El Remawi;  secretary of the Public Relations Committee and Ahmad Farah after storming their university dorm at Birzeit.

The arrest  came on the morning of election day which was  held to elect the student council. On Tuesday evening, Al Ayash  had given the final speech to Birzeit University students. During the speech Al Ayash stressed that every student’s vote counts and will make a difference in the final results. He  also urged the students to partake in the election and to play a role in forming this council because of the significant roles it has in helping the university students.

Al Ayash  also urged the student blocs to maintain the integrity of the elections and to abandon any unethical methods which may influence students’ opinions. He also called upon them to avoid methods of underestimating the student’s minds pointing out that Birzeit University represents a unique and civilized model which all students across Palestine are proud of.
