The deputy head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement “ Hamas”  in Gaza Strip, Khalil Al Hayyah, called for forming a national rescue front comprised of all components of the Palestinian society to confront the actions of President Mahmoud Abbas and to develop the national project.

“ We cannot remain idle when these measures have reached cutting off medicine and denying patients from  accessing medical care abroad” Al Hayyah said  Sunday during a meeting organized by the Palestinian Media Forum in Gaza .

Al Hayyah stressed that these  measures  taken against Gaza deepen the division affirming that such  policy will only do to  unite  the Palestinian people in Gaza. He  also pointed out that Hamas fears  Abbas’s intention to separate Gaza from the West Bank stating that there is general understanding about the difficulty of this stage.  Al Hayyah added “ We aim to end division but the only obstacle is Mahmoud Abbas.”

Regarding the relations with Egypt, he  said that the relation with the fellow brothers in Egypt is improving, especially after the last meeting with the Egyptian side which was the best one over the past 15 months.

Al Hayyah expected Egypt to open Rafah crossing before  Eid Al Adha after having completed developments there.

He stated that Hamas delegation sensed Egypt’s  understanding  of the crises imposed upon Gaza and  received  promises to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.

Concerning  the relationship with the leadership team of Mohammad Dahalan,  Al Hayyah said that Hamas agreed that the two sides will continue reconciliation efforts after being   disrupted by Abbas.

He also revealed that the meetings with Dahalan team  have not stopped and that they are not secret, asserting that  these meetings  aim to improve cooperation  between the two parties and to fulfill humanitarian work  which started years ago.

In another context, Al Hayyah said that leaving  Qatar by some Hamas leaders came within the framework of the results of the internal elections and the redistribution of files in the region assuring that the headquarters of the central leadership of Hamas headed by Ismail Haniyeh will not change their residence and will not leave Gaza except for external visits.
