The Supreme Leadership Council of Hamas prisoners strongly rejected the decision of the Israeli Occupation to deny prisoners family visits until further notice.
In a press statement released Thursday the Supreme Leadership Council said that this decision is the beginning of a new attack against Hamas’s detainees, and they will do everything possible to prevent such a provocation.
The Director of the Prisoners’ Information Office, Abdul Rahman Shadid, said that this decision comes in the context of placing pressure upon Hamas in order to release the captured Israeli soldiers.
He added that this decision comes as a result from the pressure of the families of captured Israeli soldiers who demand the punishment of Hamas’s prisoners in Israeli jails.
Shadid also pointed out that this punishment constitutes the first of a series of penalties that will be imposed by the occupation during the coming period.
The Prisoners' Information Office stressed that the Israeli government and the IPS will be fully responsible for any possible deterioration or escalation inside the prisons following this arbitrary and unjust decision.
