Hamas’s spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri stated Tuesday that the PLO Executive Committee has no right to decide on matters relevant to the Palestinian situation without Hamas, as the Committee's mandate applies only to the factions affiliated to PLO. 

Noting that no consultations on the government's formation have been conducted, Abu Zuhri said that claims on failure of consultations on the government are farcical, aiming to pass a Fatah-fashioned government or cabinet reshuffle.

Abu Zuhri stressed Hamas's call for the national consensus to be respected, warning that any party taking any unilateral steps must be held responsible for any ensuing repercussions.
