Press Statement

Abdul Latif Al-Qanou, spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement , Hamas, said the following:

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas,  salutes the guards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the worshipers who refused to enter its perimeters through the newly installed electronic checkpoints that aim to change the status quo of Al-Aqsa Mosque  and prevent Muslim worshippers from freely practising their prays in the mosque. 

These dangerous and unprecedented measures will fail in providing security to the zionists who frequently conduct provocative incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. These measures will also not dismiss our people’s right of practising their faith in complete freedom.

In this regard, we call upon the Palestinian people to further escalate the Jerusalem uprising and confront the Zionist occupation in order to break the newly imposed restrictions on Al-Aqsa Mosque. We also call upon on the people of our Arab and Islamic nations to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, particularly in Jerusalem.
