The freed detainees, who have had their salaries cut by the Palestinian Authority led by President Abbas ,  continued their  hunger strike for the second day in the sit-in tent at Yasser Arafat Square in the center of Ramallah city to protest the PA’s failure to address their just demand to have their salaries paid.

They declared their open hunger strike after a 43-day sit-in without any response to their demand from any official or human rights group.

In a press conference, the freed detainees stated that the Palestinian Authority bears the full responsibility for the safety of the hunger strikers who include elderly and  ill ones.

The hunger strikers called upon the prisoner movement to issue a press release to highlight the injustice practiced against the Palestinian people and the detainees.

They also urged the national factions to declare a standpoint  from the deliberate targeting  aganist the detainees and ex-detainees , and to take more steps to support  the detainees who are deprived from their salaries.
