Press Statement

Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesperson, stated the following:

The decision of the PA’s President, Mahmoud Abbas, to place staff of the Ministry of Agriculture in Gaza Strip under mandatory retirement is a blow to the steadfastness of our people and their resistance and will solely serve the interests of the Israeli Occupation’s agenda.

Such steps taken by the President, act as further proof of his false intentions in achieving a national reconciliation. Therefore, a unified Palestinian national council needs to be assembled in order to confront Abbas’s arbitrary policies directed towards the Gaza Strip.
