The Center of Palestine's Detainees stated on Saturday that the suffering of the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation's prisons has been aggravating since the beginning of 2015 as Israeli Prisons' service “IPS” escalated repression and harassment against the detainees.

According to the center, IPS carried out 128 repression operations against the Palestinian detainees in the first half of 2015, compared to 115 repressions during the same period of 2014.

Because of brutal beating and suppression, several detainees were critically wounded, while dozens were moved to solitary confinement for specific periods.

Stabbings  

In response to the Israeli arrogance and oppression against detainees, the Palestinian detainee Hamza Abu Swaween, 22 years from Gaza, stabbed an Israeli officer in the prison of Haim Azoulay in February2015. Also, the Palestinian detainee Ghalib Dar Sheikh Sa'da, a 20 year old from Hebron, stabbed a prison guard in April 2015 in response to the guards' provocation and attempts to subject the detainees to abuse and naked inspection.

23 Detainees Injured

As a result of the Israeli oppression in jails, 23 Palestinian detainees were injured, including 3 detainees who were brutally attacked by the prison’s special forces at Etzion prison. Moreover, Nakhshoun special forces attacked the Palestinian detainee Mohammed Jubran Khalil from Ramallah in "Eshel" prison, and also beat Thaer Madeya , 22 years, during transfer from Ashkelon prison to "Ofer" Court.

Using sniffer dogs,  Israeli prison forces also assaulted the Palestinian detainees   Khader Herama from  Bethlehem, Muhammad Baragheeth from  town of Beit Ummar in Hebron, Saleh Othman from Ramallah and Mohammed Issa from Al-Aroub refugee camp while they were in  the waiting room of  "Ofer" court.

Later, the same forces brutally attacked the Palestinian detainees Taha Samhan, Mohammed Suleiman, Mahmoud Badran, and Mo'taz Nofal in the waiting room of "Ofer" court.

Israeli prison forces stormed also Rimon prison and abused eight detainees and sent them to solitary confinement, where the Israeli officers attacked the child detainees Suhaib Afanah and Ameen Hamid, both 17 year olds from Jerusalem, and isolated them in "Megiddo" prison.

Inter-prison transfer and solitary confinement

Israeli prisons forces carried out wide random inter-prison transfers against the Palestinian detainees as all detainees of Ashkelon prison -60 detainees- were transferred to Eshel and Nafha prisons. Israeli prison forces also transferred 80 detainees from Eshel prison to Nafha prion, and all detainees of Shatta prison to Galbo'a prison.

The campaign of random transfers included the leaders and representatives of the detainees in occuption jails,  such as  Jamal El-hour,  Otman Bilal,  Muhannad Shreim,  Mahmoud Issa, Hassan Salama,  Zaid Bsasy, Jamal Abu Hayja, Khader Adnan,  Ahed Abu Golmi , the member of the detainees' leadership body  Mohammed Sabha and the leader in the PFLP Wael Jaghoub. 

The Jerusalemite detainees Omayra Omayra , Omayra Hassan  and Mahdi Atwan were injured in the attacks of prisons' Nakhshon special forces during transfer to the court..

IPS sent dozens of Palestinian detainees to solitary confinement in response to their protest against abuse and naked inspection, including Abdul Azim Abdul Haq from Nablus, Shukri al-Khawaja from Ramallah, and Ayman al-Sharabati from Jerusalem who burnt the Israeli flag in Nafha  prison.
