Head of Hamas’s political bureau phones President Mahmoud Abbas

Hamas’s political bureau head, Ismail Haniyeh, telephoned  PA President, Mahmoud Abbas, " confirming the positive atmosphere that prevailed in the Palestinian arena following Hamas’s declaration to dissolve the administrative committee, hold general elections and start bilateral dialogues in Cairo aiming to achieve a national reconciliation.

Haniyeh said, “We are determined to move forward and end the division and unite the Palestinian people in the face of the risks and challenges surrounding our cause”.

He also praised Egypt's efforts, led by the Egyptian intelligence service, in sponsoring the Palestinian national reconciliation and supervising its implementation.

The movement’s chairman also wished President Abbas success in consolidating the political message, stressing the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their rights, during his participation in the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
