The spokesperson of Hamas, Hussam Badran said in a press release issued on Tuesday that the resistance incident in occupied Jerusalem is a Palestinian response to the ongoing blatant Israeli violations against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the harassments against the Islamic holy shrines, particularly Al Aqsa mosque. 

He noted that the operation just adds more evidence that the Palestinian resistance in Jerusalem and across the occupied West Bank can never be annihilated, despite the heated campaign that is carried out to target it.

It is noteworthy to mention that three Israeli soldiers were killed and another one was critically wounded when a Palestinian opened his fire against them in Jerusalem.
