The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh said in a speech directed to the Palestinian people on Saturday that the internal reconciliation is a Palestinian will and a decision that includes both Gaza and the West Bank. He noted that Hamas is interested in creating the appropriate atmosphere to achieve the unity and transform the current gloomy reality into a brighter one.
He added that Hamas is going to accomplish the reconciliation in order to move forward to other core issues of the Palestinian cause while defending the resistance .
He also said that Hamas is willing to embark on a dialogue with Fatah movement in Egypt, and then involve in a comprehensible national dialogue in which all the reconciliation requirements are going to be met including forming a national government and preparing for elections.
He noted that this time is the best time to achieve a breakthrough in the reconciliation file as we have better regional conditions and a strong Egyptian backing.
Reconciliation in West Bank and Gaza:
Haniyeh reaffirmed that Hamas is going to work hard to achieve the unity in the West Bank as well as the Gaza Strip so that freedom can be respected and the institutional state can prosper.
He said that unity is based on unifying Gaza with the West Bank, noting that both places have been negatively impacted because of the bitter split, therefore all Palestinian people should benefit from this reconciliation.
To overcome the obstacles, Haniyeh called for favoring the collective interests not the personal or factional ones, and to have the strong will to achieve all issues agreed on.
He noted as well that Hamas took the decision to dissolve the national administrative committee in Gaza based on a clear detailed vision and to foil the Israeli agenda that aims to settle the West Bank and blockade Gaza.
Haniyeh concluded by reiterating Hamas‘s stable stance of adopting the national unity and reorganizing the Palestinian home.
