Hamas welcomed the arrival of the national unity government into Gaza and the holding of its first meeting amidst an optimistic atmosphere, noting in a press release that Hamas looks forward to ending the internal split and opening a new page of the Palestinian history full of  harmony and hope.

Hamas added that what has been achieved till the moment is a great leap as the Palestinian government can exercise its authorities in the Gaza Strip without any obstacles now. Therefore, the unity government is responsible in Gaza now.

Hamas as well looks forward to completing the joint talks in Cairo and to achieve all that has been agreed upon in the reconciliation meetings, so that the national partnership can be accomplished between all Palestinians to face the thorny challenges facing on the Palestinian people.

Hamas hailed the Egyptian delegation, which directly sponsored and directed the talks, and warmly applauded all other Palestinian factions and Palestinian masses for the great optimistic spirits they’ve shown towards reconciliation efforts.
