The leader in Hamas, Khalil Al-Haiya, said in his speech in the annual conference, "Palestine, Political and Strategic Visions," that the chances are very strong this time to finally achieve the Palestinian unity as all sides have shown interest and commitment.

He added that Hamas went to the reconciliation with an open minded mentality and great flexibility in order to achieve the national joint work.

Haiya noted that it is erroneous to put any obstacles in front of the efforts being made to accomplish the Palestinian reconciliation, confirming that the resistance weapons are Non-negotiable and are  not part of any agreement.

He as well pointed out that for Palestinians who still confront their enemy occupiers to establish their independent state, all form of resistance whether political or military are not only legitimate, but also pressing and necessary.

He called for setting up a joint national program with execution forms to back the Palestinian resistance and the political efforts exerted to push the Palestinian cause forward, noting that the Palestinian Authority should not be a burden to this program and the Palestinian national vision.
