The head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh congratulated  the Sudanese President , Omar Hassan Al Bashir, on lifting the long-standing unjust economic sanctions imposed by the USA.  

In a letter sent to the Sudanese President on Sunday , Haniyeh expressed the joy of the Palestinian people for lifting the harsh  economic sanctions  which have been  imposed on Sudan for years.

He stressed the deep ties between the Sudanese and Palestinian people  expressing the brave stands and efforts  of Sudan in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and cause. 

Haniyeh added, “ Sudan faced the sanctions and their severe effects and proved their ability  to move forward towards development and prosperity.”

He hoped that lifting sanctions will be a step towards further progress and development in all fields and  wished the Sudanese leadership, government and people a prosperous future.
