As the Palestinian detainee Faris Baroud has died of medical negligence in the Israeli jails, the spokesperson of Hamas Fawzi Barhoum states the following:

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourns the death of the Palestinian detainee in the Israeli jails Faris Baroud who died of deliberate medical negligence.

The movement holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the terrible conditions and medical negligence in the Israeli jails, given that  the Israeli occupation authorities had refused to provide Faris Baroud critical medical care; thus, he died of medical negligence.

Hamas condemns the slow killing of Faris as a heinous crime highlighting the Israeli criminal nature and flagrant violations against the Palestinian detainees, especially the patient ones.

he movement calls on all the factions, segments, and figures of the Palestinian people and international, humanitarian, and legal organisations to intervene immediately to take serious actions to save the lives of thousands of Palestinian detainees held in the Israeli jails. The Israeli occupation must be held accountable for its abhorrent crimes against the Palestinian detainees.

Finally, Hamas Movement stresses that it never abandons its national responsibility towards the Palestinians detained in the Israeli jails. The movement keeps exerting efforts to release the detainees regardless of the great sacrifices it has to make.
