Palestinians in al-Aqsa have succeeded to block Israeli settlers’ attempts to break into the holy site this morning.

Hundreds of Israeli settlers planned to storm into al-Aqsa mosque in the Day of Eid al-Adha, the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide.

In a press release, Hamas said that the Palestinian people have confirmed once again that they uphold their right to their holy places and they are determined to block the Israeli schemes targeting al-Aqsa.

“The Palestinian people have confirmed once again that they uphold their right to al-Aqsa, are fully prepared to defend the holy site, and are determined to foil the Israeli plans to judaize and divide the mosque,” Hamas said.

The movement added that the ‘madness’ of extremist Israeli settlers will backfire and the Israeli government is fully responsible for the repercussions of the escalation in al-Aqsa.
