The Israeli occupation continues its systematic and appalling violation of Palestinian children’s basic rights, including the right to live a decent life and access education, said Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem.

In a press release on Palestinian Children’s Day, Qasem added that killing and abducting Palestinian children had been a constant practise of the Israeli occupation army throughout its military offensives on the Gaza Strip.

Qasem called for prosecuting Israeli occupation leaders in international courts for crimes against Palestinian children.

According to human rights groups, about 180 Palestinian children are still held in Israeli prisons in spite of calls for the Israeli occupation to release them amid the coronavirus outbreak.
