Israeli occupation forces have abducted 297 Palestinian citizens, including 12 children and ten women, over the past month, human rights groups have found.

In a report issued on Monday, the four human rights organisations explained that Jerusalem saw the highest number of Palestinians arrested by Israeli occupation troops, with 103 citizens abducted last month, followed by Hebron, where 42 Palestinians were arrested.     

In the third place came Jenin, in which 40 Palestinian citizens were kidnapped by Israeli occupation forces, followed by Ramallah and Bethlehem, with 33 and 23 citizens arrested in each city respectively. 

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation troops detained 20 Palestinian citizens in Tulkarm and 11 others in Qalqilia over the last month.

In Nablus, ten Palestinian citizens were arrested by Israeli occupation forces, eight others in Jericho, four others in Tubas, and two others in Salfit.

In addition, Israeli occupation troops detained a Palestinian citizen of Gaza in August.

The Israeli occupation is still imprisoning nearly 4,500 Palestinian detainees, including 41 ladies and about 140 children, according to the rights groups.  

Approximately 340 of the jailed Palestinians are held under administrative detention without a charge or trial.   

During August, Israeli occupation courts issued 73 administrative detention orders against Palestinian citizens, 34 of them were made for the first time and 39 others were issued to extend the detention of Palestinians held under this arbitrary practice.
