The spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Hazem Qassem, stated the following:

The decision of the occupation government to confiscate part of the clearing funds belonging to the Palestinian people is a crime of robbery that confirms the terrorist behavior of the occupation, and the targeting of prisoners and families of martyrs as they are the symbols of the Palestinian people.

We call on the leadership of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah to take a clear position in response to this crime, and break the silence towards the increasing Zionist aggression, and abandon the illusion of renewing the relationship with the occupation.

The leadership of the Authority is required to undo its cutting of the salaries of detainees and families of martyrs and to take the initiative to pay their dues as part of its response to the occupation's decision to seize funds.
