Member of Hamas Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzouq has said that his movement is keen on maintaining a close relationship with Arab and Muslim nations.

Hamas has always been keen to remain in contact with all components of the Arab and Muslim world, including parties, organisations, and groups, and bears no animosity towards any state or party in the region, Abu Marzouq stressed in a press statement.

He demonstrated that a high-ranking delegation from Hamas, led by its politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh, went on two fruitful visits to Lebanon and Algeria, which came as part of an effort to remain in touch with various Arab nations.

Being one of the resistance groups in the region, Hamas' status has been affected – to a great extent – by the events that have been taking place across the region over the past decade, Abu Marzouq pointed out.

In light of this, Abu Marzouq added, Hamas has adopted a policy of not interfering with others' affairs, not joining alignments at the expense of others, and bearing no animosity towards any party in the region.

Regarding his movement's policy toward alliances, Abu Marzouq explained that Hamas refuses to form any alignment with any party because it seeks support for the Palestinian cause and rights from all parties in the region, including the states that normalised ties with the Israeli occupation.

Hamas cooperates with Iran in all fields as the Islamic Republic is one of the most supportive countries of the Palestinian resistance and its approach towards Palestine, Abu Marzouq noted.
